Deputy Director of the Aging Equality Project, Human Rights Campaign Foundation

Dan Stewart (he/him) is the Deputy Director of the Aging Equality Project for the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. In this role, he provides leadership and management for the Long-Term Care Equality Index (LEI) and other projects to promote LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and practices in long-term care and senior services. Dan received his BA in Psychology from Saint Louis University and an MS in Gerontology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. A Latiné, Indigenous, transgender man and gerontologist, he has dedicated his career to advocating and bettering the lives of historically marginalized older adults.

About Rainbows of Caring

Rainbows of Aging is a research team led by Dr. Jason Flatt, MPH, PhD at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Our mission is to ensure inclusion of LGBTQIA+ older adults (50+) in research. We specifically focus on brain health, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s and the experiences of caregivers. Our studies typically include a listening session where we seek to understand your lived experiences to better focus future efforts and resources in ways that will promote equitable access and healthy aging among the community.
